Dynamic Storage Systems were challenged by Craig Robb to find additional storage capacity whilst maintaining the production areas, improve stock location management and speed of picking as part of a continuous commitment to support their customers. Large stocks of genuine spare parts are also held here allowing fast turnaround on orders.
In addition the businesses occasionally has to handle large bulky deliveries providing testing and assembly areas as required to suit the customer’s needs, conveying trials and demonstrations.
The Dynamic design in the 550m2 facility required rotating and extending the existing pallet racking and installing a new 87m2 mezzanine floor over the workshop facility to store small parts, utilising relocated and new adjustable shelving with divided sections for better location management.
By removing the old staircase and creating a workspace under a new mezzanine floor it provided a natural support for all the services and lighting required over the work benches and an efficient, effective production area. An up and over pallet gate was installed for occasional use to elevate products safely onto a fully compliant mezzanine floor with building regulations.
Dynamic were able to retrain the existing pallet racking and complement it with new racking to create a layout fully compliant with SEMA racking requirements. In addition the old mesh partitioning was reused on the rear of the single run to ensure safe access by personnel when entering the warehouse.
By rotating the pallet racking this created more storage capacity, better and safer access by FLT for storing or retrieving palletised parts. In addition the wide aisles provided areas for storing and sorting occasional bulk deliveries.
Dynamic understood the requirements fully allowing us to rearrange the workspace without moving premises which would have been a major disruption and investment for the company.
We now have a 35% increase in storage capacity, safer working environment and an accessible stock holding that contributes to improved customer service levels.
